Central Railway (CR) has launched the Rail Parcel App across seven locations in the zone, offering end-to-end logistics solutions from doorstep pick-up to doorstep delivery. In the pilot phase, the app has been rolled out in Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Rajahmundry, Visakhapatnam, Bengaluru and Chennai. The digital platform enables real-time parcel tracking, automated push notifications and secure digital payments, making the parcel booking process seamless and transparent for users. Highlighting the initiative, the CR GM said parcel booking should be as simple as booking a taxi, and the Rail Parcel App makes this possible by integrating technology with railway logistics. The move is aimed at enhancing customer convenience, improving operational efficiency, and promoting Indian Railways’ parcel services as a competitive and reliable logistics option for businesses and individual customers alike, according to a report.
