India’s first dedicated VLCC terminal inaugurated at Mundra Port

Feb 27, 2026

APSEZ has inaugurated India’s first dedicated VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier) Terminal at Mundra Port, marking a major milestone in the country’s energy logistics.

The new terminal, built with an exceptionally deep draft and advanced marine infrastructure, is designed to handle some of the world’s largest crude carriers with ease. Its strategic advantage is further strengthened by a 489 km direct pipeline linking the jetty to the HPCL Rajasthan Refinery in Barmer, ensuring faster, safer and efficient crude transportation.

A proud moment for India’s maritime and energy sectors—setting new benchmarks in infrastructure, connectivity and operational excellence, highlighted a communique.
