Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy reported that 28 vessels, including oil tankers, container ships and other commercial craft, safely transited the strategic Strait of Hormuz over 24 hours recently. This counts as the highest publicly announced single-day transit volume since regional conflict severely disrupted the key energy maritime corridor. The vessels were granted clearance to pass through the waterway strictly after coordinating with and obtaining permits from IRGC naval units. The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters re-emphasised that Iran exercises full sovereign authority over the Strait, warning that any commercial or military vessels failing to follow designated routes or secure prior authorisation would seriously jeopardise their traffic safety. The IRGC used the announcement to blast the presence of the US military in the Persian Gulf, calling it the primary source of regional instability, according to a report.
