Mar 11, 2026

Port achieves 11-high container stacking

A new scale of operations arrived at PSA Mumbai, at JN Port, when for the first time in India Hapag-Lloyd’s 400-metre LOA vessel, Damietta Express, called at the terminal.

With a capacity of around 23,664 TEUs, the berthing of this Ultra Large Container Vessel marks another proud moment for the terminal and port, highlighting the capability to handle some of the world’s largest container vessels and strengthening JNPA’s position as India’s Largest Container Port.

At the same time, JNPA marked another first - 11-high container stacking, demonstrating the strength, precision and efficiency of its terminal operations.

Moments like these reflect how ports continue to evolve to support the future of global trade, emphasised a communique.
