Capt. B. K. Tyagi, CMD, Shipping Corporation of India (SCI), was conferred the prestigious Sagar Samman Varuna Award at the 63rd National Maritime Day celebrations held on April 5.

Honour, the Sagar Samman Varuna Award recognises Capt. Tyagi’s visionary leadership, distinguished service, and his continued efforts towards strengthening India’s maritime industry, highlighted a communique.
The Sagar Samman Varuna Award (formerly National Maritime Varuna Award) is India’s highest individual recognition in the maritime sector, presented annually by the Directorate General of Shipping. It honours sustained and outstanding contributions to India’s maritime landscape, such as leadership in ship management, training, or strategic development.
